A Reflection on Data Representativeness in Datasets

3 minute read

Published:

Perhaps the biggest difference between studying and working with Artificial Intelligence lies in the data itself. In courses and small-scale projects, datasets are perfect. At most, we perform some exploratory analysis, convert strings to floats, and clean up missing values or outliers. In real life, however, the story has proven to be completely different. Developing a model that performs well and is actually useful for society when dealing with scarce or low-quality data is extremely complicated. T

How to Utilize Artificial Intelligence to Create Efficient Solutions

Published:

In October 2025, I had the honor of speaking at Curicaca Festival, an event promoted by Concentro and the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), recognized as the largest youth entrepreneurship summit in the Brazilian Midwest. Under the theme “How to Utilize Artificial Intelligence to Create Efficient Solutions,” I addressed how AI can be applied to optimize internal processes, support strategic decision-making, and enhance the quality of client delivery.

Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD): The Data Science Lifecycle

Published:

In May 2026, I led an online workshop for University of Brasília researchers and students focused on the KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Databases) process. As someone working at the intersection of Software Engineering (at the Federal Court of Accounts - TCU) and AI Research (at Petrobras/LAMFO), my goal was to show how we can move beyond simple data collection to identify valid, novel, and potentially useful patterns in complex datasets.
